Carl has practiced as a corporate and commercial lawyer and business adviser since the mid-1990s. He has extensive practical experience in corporate transactions, financing, and matters relating to business administration and corporate governance. He has acted as lead counsel and adviser in a large number of significant corporate acquisitions, investments, divestments, and restructurings, across Swedish, Norwegian, and international cross-border contexts. Carl has also advised on the financing of such transactions, including complex refinancing arrangements involving larger company groups—both through financial institutions and the issuance of corporate bonds. He is a capable negotiator with experience from a wide variety of commercial negotiations.
He works closely with owners and decision-makers in situations where legal, commercial, and strategic considerations are closely intertwined. In addition to legal and financial analysis, the focus is on what actually works in practice, including strategy and how matters are structured and communicated.
Carl has long-standing experience serving as a board member in various companies, including major Nordic care-sector groups financed through listed bond structures.
He has been personally recommended in the legal guides Chambers and Partners (Corporate/M&A) and Legal500 (Corporate, Commercial, and M&A).
Carl is licensed to practice law in Sweden and Norway under the professional title advokat and is qualified to use the Swedish professional title civilekonom. He is a member of both the Swedish and Norwegian Bar Associations. He holds an LL.M., a B.Sc. in Business and Economics, and a University Diploma in English, all from Stockholm University.
